Here's what we showcased at our booth at bauma 2022 and the highlights we're taking away – a bauma recap ## klarx at bauma 2022 – what was on display From October 24 to October 30, 2022, the world's largest construction machinery trade fair took place in Munich – and we were right in the middle of it! True to our trade fair motto "klarx - in between spaces," we gave visitors from all over the world a glimpse into the future of construction equipment rental through our staged art walk. Using sea containers, we created an art gallery in our brand CI that focused on the klarx vision, our software solutions, and the topic of "sustainable rental." We returned the sea containers directly after bauma to the economic cycle through rental or sale – nothing was wasted afterward. We also deliberately used sustainable and recyclable materials to serve as pioneers and role models in the construction industry. ## Sustainable Construction – Realizing Photovoltaic Projects with klarx Another highlight at bauma was our klarxGREEN container, where we showcased drone footage of PV systems from our customers. "Thanks to our partner network of over 5,100 locations, we can ensure that transportation kilometers always remain under 60 kilometers. This saves emissions and allows our customers to start their projects on a sustainable basis from the beginning," said Florian Handschuh, co-founder of klarx. ## The Artwork "Re-Vision 20.4.2022" The artwork "Re-Vision 20.4.2022" by Yul Zeser, which was on display at our trade fair booth, also demonstrated how important it is today to rethink things and take a different, especially more sustainable path. Since the 1960s, goods have always had to fit into DIN-standardized containers to be transported from A to B. We turned the tables and adapted the container to its cargo, in this case a scissor lift. "That's how it's always been" doesn't exist for us. In "Re-Vision 20.4," Yul Zeser illustrates processes of standardization and generalization that have become fundamental to modern logistics. A globalized economy would be unthinkable without the ISO container. Today, approximately 90% of general cargo shipped worldwide is transported by container. However, the container in "Re-Vision 20.4" no longer serves its function because it was narrowed by 4 feet (1.22 m). Only cargo specially adapted to this container can be transported here, and the universal fit for standardized shipping containers becomes obsolete. By destroying the standardized units, we first see how accustomed we have become to the form of an ISO container. Additionally, artist Yul Zeser, similar to his 2020 work "Der Lichte Raum" at the Propylaea in Munich, installs a lightbox instead of the container's floor, illuminating it from within. A scissor lift can be rented directly from our logistics center in Munich, of course with guaranteed availability. Due to current crises, ISO containers have become many times more expensive, which is why entire industries can no longer transport their goods. Within globalized economies, there is a clear dependence on access to containers, which is currently only guaranteed for large international companies.
