# Delivery, Pickup and Return

## Delivery or Self-Pickup

You can choose between delivery via freight forwarding and self-pickup. For self-pickup, we will inform you of the pickup location by email. If needed, we can also rent you suitable transport trailers.

## Transport Costs

Transport costs depend heavily on distance and the size of the rental equipment. We ship some tools via parcel service, while other equipment requires a low-loader freight service or special transport. This is why the exact delivery address is essential for accurate cost calculation. All costs are itemized in your quote and booking confirmation. For small equipment and short rental periods, self-pickup is often the most economical option.

## Handover

At handover, please present a valid ID document (passport or national ID card). If you pick up the machine yourself, our specialist staff will provide on-site instruction. Instruction is not automatically included with delivery. In this case, please discuss this in advance with our rental experts.

## Return

Return machines and tools clean, with full fuel tanks or fully charged batteries, and in good condition. Otherwise, we will charge you for cleaning or repair costs. For information on how to extend or end your rental, see [Extend or End Rental](/en/help/for-customers/rent-with-klarx/extend-or-end-rental).

## What should I do if the delivery is late?

[Contact klarx](/en/contact). We will get in touch with the rental station or driver as quickly as possible.

## Why does klarx need the exact delivery address?

Only with the exact address can we calculate logistics costs precisely, and you receive a quote without hidden costs. We treat your data confidentially.

## Do I need a special license for the machine?

Some larger machines may require a certificate of competence. Read more about this in our blog article [Do I need an excavator license?](/en/blog/do-i-need-an-excavator-license)
