# RAB – Rules for Occupational Safety on Construction Sites

Working in wind and rain, constant time pressure, and heavy physical demands – accidents can happen quickly on construction sites under these conditions. That's why the right safety precautions are so important. Here you'll learn what the rules for occupational safety on construction sites include.

## What does RAB mean?

The Rules for Occupational Safety on Construction Sites (RAB) are established by the Committee for Safety and Health Protection on Construction Sites (ASGB). They provide information on the current state of technology regarding safety and health protection on construction sites. The aim of these rules is to prevent accidents on construction sites and enable smooth operations.

The RAB represents a clarification of state occupational safety regulations. There you'll find more detailed information on how to meet the requirements of the Occupational Safety Act ([ArbSchG](https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/arbschg/)) and the related regulations, in particular the Construction Site Safety Regulation ([BaustellV](https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/baustellv/BJNR128300998.html)).
