Your data is the foundation of your work. That's why the security and availability of your information in **klarxMANAGER** is our top priority. Here we explain simply and transparently how we protect your data.

### 📍 Where is my data stored? (Server location)

Even though we operate internationally, your data remains physically in Germany.

- **Location:** Frankfurt am Main.
- **Legal security:** Since the data center is located in Germany, your data is subject to strict European and German data protection standards (GDPR).

> **Note on infrastructure:** We use **Digital Ocean** as our hosting partner. This is a renowned, multinational provider headquartered in the USA. However, we have configured our infrastructure contractually and technically so that storage takes place exclusively in the high-security data center in Frankfurt.

### 🛡️ What happens in case of an outage? (Backups)

We are prepared for the worst case so your work never stops. Our backup strategy rests on two pillars:

1. **Live Backups (7 days):** We perform continuous backups. This means we can restore the system state for any point in time over the last 7 days ("Point-in-Time Recovery"). If an error occurs, we can simply turn back the clock.
1. **Daily Off-Site Backup:** Additionally, a complete backup is transferred to an **external location** every day. Even if something physical were to happen at the data center in Frankfurt (e.g., fire or power outage), your data is safely available at a second location.

### 🔐 How is data transmitted? (Encryption)

The path of your data from your computer or tablet to klarxMANAGER is strictly protected. We use **TLS encryption** (Transport Layer Security) for this.

- This is the same security standard you know from **online banking**.
- Third parties cannot read or manipulate the data on its way through the internet.
